Sessions & Fees ...

This section of the website is available for you to find information about available sessions, fees, holiday entitlements and notice periods.

Sessions and Fees

The nursery is open from 7.30am to 6pm from Monday to Friday all year round. We have yet to make a decision as to whether we will be open between Christmas and New Year. The decision will ultimately be based on customer need.

It is expensive to provide high quality childcare as ensuring children; receive care from appropriately trained and qualified staff who are able to participate in continuous professional development in order to perfect their craft; participate in a broad range of learning experiences both within and beyond the nursery; enjoy healthy meals and snacks; are cared for in a safe, secure and healthy environment, must all be considered.  If fees are not paid on time, it causes great difficulties and hardship on the nursery.  Please help us by paying your fees on time.

Sessions available at our nursery and their respective fees our outlined below:

CHILDREN FROM
8 months TO 5 YEARS

FULL DAY
7.30am to 6.00pm

£39/day or £185/week

HALF DAY
7.30am to 12.45pm or
1.00pm to 6.00pm
£24/session

SCHOOL HOURS
8.30am to 4.00pm

£31/day

The above fees include meals as outlined below:
Breakfast: children attending the Full Day or Half Day Morning sessions will be offered breakfast between 7.45am and 8.30 am comprising of Weetabix, Shreddies, porridge or fruit.
Hot lunch: children attending the Full Day, Half Day Morning or School Hours sessions will enjoy a hot lunch between 11.45am and 12.30pm, freshly prepared by qualified staff in the nursery kitchen from locally sourced produce plus dessert.
A light tea: will be served at 4.00pm for children attending the Full Day and Half Day Afternoon sessions, allowing your child to have their last meal of the day with yourselves.
Healthy snacks: including a variety of fruit and vegetables, plain biscuits and bread sticks are available mid-morning and mid-afternoon during snack time.
Drinks: children are offered a drink, usually milk or water, with every meal and water is available at all times throughout the day.
Fees are reviewed annually in January of each year.
In order to maintain our competitive prices, our preferred methods of receiving payments are by Employer Childcare Vouchers or electronic transfer. Payments by cheque and cash incur particularly heavy costs which we may ultimately need to cover by means of an increase in fees.

Late Collection

Parents should specifically note that if their child is collected after 12.45pm when attending a Morning Session, after 4pm when attending a School Hours session or after 6.00pm when attending an Afternoon Session or Full Day Session and, as a result, we have provided you with additional childcare, a charge of £4.00 will be made. This is a necessary charge to cover the additional staffing requirements and building lease fees and will be charged monthly in arrears.

Holiday Entitlement and Absences

We offer 2 weeks of holiday entitlement a year pro-rata to the number of days your child attends our nursery in one week (although these cannot be claimed within the first 2 months of attending the nursery). Holiday entitlement is calculated on an annual basis and deducted from the monthly bill. Please let a member of staff know at least 2 weeks in advance if your child will be absent.

Normal charges will apply in the event that you decide not to take up your 2 weeks holiday entitlement and your child attends the nursery.

Full fees for absences other than for 2 weeks annual holidays must be paid for.  However, fees will be waived if your child has an illness that continues beyond 2 weeks provided medical evidence is provided.

Should the nursery close over the Christmas period, fees are not payable for the 3 days between the Christmas bank holidays (Christmas Day and Boxing Day).  Full fees are payable for Bank Holidays.

Notice

Four weeks notice must be given in writing to reduce the sessions your child attends or to terminate your Agreement Contract with South Cave Bears Day Nursery. If you withdraw your child without notice, fees for the four week notice period will be payable.
